The Communications Committee shares information about the Chapter's activities with Chapter Members and the local business and academic communities. The Committee's core activities include producing the Chapter's bimonthly eNewsletter, updating the Chapter's website, and designing the Chapter's communications, public relations and marketing efforts.
The eNewsletter, published six times per year, is designed to inform, educate and entertain. It covers the many educational programs and social events sponsored by the Chapter throughout the year, current regulatory and legislative updates relevant to the life sciences, news items concerning local companies, an occasional technical article written by a Chapter Member or a "spotlight" interview with a leader in the local life sciences community. The Chapter website presents a comprehensive overview of the Chapter's activities, both past and future, and makes it easy for Members and potential Members to find current information about Chapter activities and register online to attend Chapter events.
The Committee is an ideal fit for Members with an interest in community outreach and a creative flair. Writing, photography and/or graphic arts skills would be a special plus. Examples of volunteer opportunities include full committee membership and/or individual projects such as covering an event for the eNewsletter, keeping an area of the website up to date, designing a promotional mailer or notifying local media outlets about upcoming events. To join the Committee or volunteer for a short term assignment, please contact the Boston Area Chapter administrative offices at email@example.com or complete and the volunteer form at the bottom of the page.
